Maui is the place to see humpback whales. Each year these magnificent creatures migrate south from Alaska, and although you can see them throughout Hawaii, the ‘Au ‘au channel off the coast of Maui boasts the greatest number. Our warm, relatively shallow and protected waters make an ideal location for the humpbacks to mate and give birth to their calves. These whales are known for their acrobatics, and are often seen fully breaching out of the ocean!

It was great to be on the water with Paragon Performance for a sunset sail. The boat was just right for a smaller group. There was lots of room for everyone. The crew was professional and friendly. Unfortunately there wasn’t much wind that night so we motored more than we sailed. After boarding and a safety briefing, we headed out into the water and cruised down the coast. The large catamaran allowed us to sit out on the bow for the best views. The crew offered us drinks including rum cocktails, beer and champagne. The pupus turned out to be pulled pork sliders in a boxed lunch with other snacks. We wound up coming back in just before sunset. I would have liked to stay out a few minutes longer to get the full affect of the sunset, but all in all it was a fun event.

Thank you for another outstanding sunset sail. Great crew on a relaxing and beautiful boat. Our 10th trip with Paragon did not disappoint. Will look forward to our sail with you again next summer.

We were fortunate to be able to actually sail for a good portion of this and it was so much more fun than just a motor! The crew was fantastic and very attentive, the boat very clean, and the sunset (even with clouds) was beautiful. Definitely recommend!
