The Black River Gorges National Park, 67.54 km² of pure, wild, nature. The heart of Mauritius island, home of many endemic species, both animal and floral. It offers a great discovery of the nature of the island. During this hike we will discover different viewpoints from which we can contemplate different parts of the park and its surroundings. Half-way up our climb, we discover the “Mare aux Joncs Gorge” that we like to call the “Bats Valley” because of the thousands of Mauritan Fruit-Bats we can observe there. On top of our ascension, at 400m above sea level we get an amazing sight on the West-Coast, its lagoons and beautiful villages amountains. From there, we start our back back down until the black-river where we can stop to enjoy a nice swim before continuing and reach back our starting point, where we’ve met a few hours earlier.

I wholeheartedly recommend this experience. Yanature was in touch with me the night before, informing me of weather conditions and important details ahead of the excursion. Our tour guide Yan was kind, knowledgeable, and experienced. He took us on a beautiful 3 hour hike with viewpoints, sights of animals and vegetation, and an amazing swim in the lake to wrap it up. Yan has been doing this for years so knows his stuff! 100% value for money, and even though you can technically do the hike on your own, you will miss out on interesting history and the best hidden spots.

Une île Maurice magnifique splendide ! Ne passez surtout pas à côté de cette randonnée pour voir la richesse de la faune en ce paradis. Fabrice notre guide, réel amoureux de la nature, nous a appris tant de choses et avec une joie, bonne humeur au reflet des Mauriciens. Je conseille vraiment cette excursion

Très belle balade, mais le guide, Steeve, pas très sympathique. Je ne le recommande pas. Notre première expérience avec un autre était pourtant très bonne mais pas celle-ci
