At Bois Cheri Tea Plantation you'll discover the history of tea in Mauritius, and learn about the tea making process. At the La Vanille Réserve des Mascareignes you'll see giant tortoises and crocodiles in this one-of-a-kind nature reserve. At Gris Gris and La Roche qui Pleure you can admire the rugged scenery of the south of Mauritius, the most wild part of the island.

  • Bois Cheri Tea Factory and Tea Museum, Bois Cheri
    Discover the tea making process at Bois Chéri, the first tea plantation in Mauritius, founded in 1892. You will visit the plantation, factory, museum and learn about the tea production process from harvest and fermentation to drying, sieving and packaging, and the history of tea in Mauritius. After the guided tour, you can sample the delicious varieties of tea on the terrace of its old chalet and admire a volcanic crater now transformed into a small lake, surrounded by lush greenery.

  • La Vanille Nature Park, Riviere des Anguilles
    Stroll through La Vanille Réserve des Mascareignes and its 3.5 hectares of lush greenery. Discover its beautiful palm and banana trees, giant bamboos, its impressive animals, including 2,000 Nile Crocodiles and 1,000 giant tortoises. You will also visit their insectarium which boasts one of the best private collections in the world with 23,000 species.

  • Gris Gris Beach, Souillac
    Admire the rugged scenery of big, powerful waves crashing on the cliffs at Gris Gris. A few metres away, you will see La Roche qui pleure, a natural rock formation that resembles a person crying when the waves hit it.

  • You will be able to choose how long you spend at each attraction. Depending on your group’s speed you may not have time to see all the listed attractions.
  • Entrance fees for the attractions are not collected by the supplier, so that gives you the possibility to skip the ones that don’t interest you and spend more time at the ones that do
  • Bois Cheri is closed on Dec. 24 and 25, and from Dec. 31 to Jan. 5, and may be closed on certain public holidays

  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

I stayed at a hotel in the north and booked to do the South Tour. As I stayed in the north there was a lot of driving. I really enjoyed the trip and was great to experience Mauritius. The water falls were amazing. You had to pay to see 7 sands which was interesting.

El "guia" no hablaba si no le preguntabas, paro en La roche qui Pleure, bueno, en un camino y nos dijo.... "por ahí delante la ven" y nos mando monte a través hasta el acantilado, no se nos dijo que los viernes la fabrica del Té no funciona, con lo que solo fuimos a probarlo... el resto de las excursiones las hicimos con un taxi contratado en el hotel, mucho más económico e infinitamente mejor, nos contaban todo lo que íbamos viendo, nos contaron un montón de curiosidades y datos de la isla, paraban donde les pedías, nos recomendaban sitios e itinerarios, hasta repetimos chófer de lo bien que nos cayó... no recomendaría contratar esta excursión
