El Penol is one of the stunning attractions near Medellin, Colombia. It is a huge attraction that has a small town under the enormous rock that is supposed to be 65 million years old. El penol, which is the name of the rock, has been revised and is now able to be climbed through built in stairs. Outside the attraction is the larger town of Guatape which has a huge array of shops, restaurants, and hotels apart from the antique infrastructure of the town.

Primero recomiendo ir a Guatapé a un paseo en lancha por la presa donde conoceran el viejo Guatapé, casas de Pablo Escobar, casa de James Rodriguez y más. Posteriormente visitamos la calle de las sombrillas y los negocios con diversidad de colores. Segundo visítanos el Peñol, un lugar con buenas vistas a Guatapé y al Peñol.

Un 10/10. Tomamos un tour con la empresa MaxiTour Colombia en el cual nos pasaron a recoger al hotel, hicimos parada para desayunar (incluida en el precio), continuamos nuestro camino hasta el El Peñol. Recorrimos las calles del pueblo y visitamos la réplica del antiguo Peñol. Continuamos hasta la famosa piedra del Peñol en la cual subimos los más de 600 escalones hasta la cima. Almorzamos (también incluido) en un restaurante al bajar de la piedra. De ahí cruzamos la calle y pedimos una Michelada porque el calor estaba en su punto. Regresamos al bus y nos llevaron a hacer un tour en barco por la represa de Guatapé. Hicimos otras tres escalas y regresamos a Medellín al atardecer. El grupo era grande pero logramos completar todo el tour con el mejor ánimo. Comimos, paseamos y nos divertimos un montón.
