It has been considered one of the most beautiful villages of Italy. Visit of the medieval wash house and the magnificent cathedral. Afterwards you will have some free time for shopping and lunch. In the afternoon travel to Caccamo and visit of its castle. Built in the Norman period, on a steep rocky spur, this work by the Chiaramonte family is one of the Island most important, charming and best preserved feudal castle, besides being the biggest. Caccamo is a pretty medieval town at 520 meters above sea level, which stands on a hill at the foot of Mount San Calogero. Built in 1131, you can admire the famous mosaic Christ Pantocrator from the inside; the Medieval wash-house; the "Osterio Magno" and the magnificent promenade. Very good tour of Cefalu and Caccamo. Tanya is a good guide to these two sites and Giuseppe is an excellent driver.

Our guide, Tatiana, could not have been nicer or more solicitous of our needs. We were in Cefalu and Caccamo during the off-season so there were fewer shops open and it was generally quiet, but lovely. Both castles were spectacular. It is a long drive to and from Palermo so be prepared for a long day. These two destinations are worth seeing and Taotravel is highly recommended!
