Blending tales of shipwrecks, sly grog shops and distilling bans with some of Melbourne’s coolest whisky and gin joints, the Melbourne Whisky and Gin Tour is a rollicking adventure from Victoria’s early spirit making past to its modern craft scene. Starting at State Parliament, you'll be transported back in time to a heady world of prohibition, sly grog shops, shipwrecks and even Sherlock Holmes while sampling gin at a heritage brick cottage that once housed bootleg grog. From here, it's a short stroll to Melbourne's first whisky bar and a wide selection of peaty single malts, honeyed Highlands and mellow Scottish blends. Your tour ends at one of the cities best bars - a hidden distillery!

We really enjoyed our Whiskey and Gin tour, great mix of people. Really enjoyed the Boilermaker Bar and the Little Lon Distillery and Alba new her stuff.

What a great afternoon tour! Very informative and entertaining to hear about the history of whiskey and gin in Australia. The secret bars had lots of character and served really good gin and whiskeys. Mer was delightful and gave a very memorable tour!

We went on the Gin and Whiskey Walking History Tour. Six of us did this tour for my husband's 50th birthday. Alda was our guide and was very knowledgeable on the history of the area we toured. We went to 3 bars that we (as locals) had never been to before and we loved every single one... we did a tasting flight at each bar and got to try quite a few whiskeys and gins. Our guide pointed out other bars that we want to go back and try out. I would recommend these tours whether you are a local or a visitor to Melbourne. My hubby had an unforgettable birthday.
