Elvis Presley's Childhood Home Sightseeing Daytrip from Memphis

The basic and lowest priced tour is $85. The staff here is awful. They don’t direct you where to go, or help, everyone is grouchy, and it makes the experience not fun. They are all standing around, giving you side eye, but no one engaging with guests or actually helpful. We spent a half hour sitting outside waiting on a tour bus, and it never came. Then while in the house, the woman tells us we have to walk to the right first, not here, this direction first…. It’s a SELF GUIDED TOUR. I won’t come back. Loved the grounds, house was interesting. People who work here HORRIBLE.

We had a awesome look through Elvis's home in Gracelands. If you're an Elvis fan and you can get there, it is an absolute must!! Is like wondering through a time capsule, such a buzz. And all the museum parts across the road which is included is just great. You need the whole day, maybe longer to look through it all properly.

Graceland has been on my bucket list of places to visit so while in Nashville on business I took Grayline Tour by bus which was great courtesy of Frank our driver and guide. After a 3hr bus ride watching Elvis films we arrived. Our VIP passes were waiting. Our tour of the house that is Graceland was based on a time slot so we were ferried across the road from the visitor centre by bus. After a short film our group of 15 was directed by the frienfly staff into the house. Inside it has been recreated to how it was during Elvis's final years in Graceland in the 1970's. It is smaller on the inside but all the rooms and memorabilia are evocative of the King. From the lounge to the TV room to the jungle room all downstairs as there is no entry upstairs. Audio guides are available but I preferred to read the panels around the house. There are a number of outbuildings too and some great photo ops including outside the front which is very busy. I did unlike others slip into an Elvis costume and get some photos. The staff and other visitors applauded my efforts and got photos of a Sikh Elvis outside Graceland! Then back to the visitor centre and the many museums showcasing Elvis' life. From his clothes to his cars to his planes and even his tractor. A chance to try his favourite grilled (not fried) banana and peanut butter sandwich before it was time to go. Overall an amazing experience and 5 hours well spent. This is a must do for any music fan.
