Unfortunately, my client's experience with Coox Mayab Tours in Merida was extremely disappointing. We booked the tours for December 28, 29 and 30 after planning it meticulously since April or May, and the reality did not meet their expectations at all.
The tour in Mérida, which was promoted as a multi-hour experience, was limited to a quick visit to the main square, lasting only one hour. Despite having a competent guide he was hurt and had restricted mobility. The activity did not offer the richness and depth they advertise.
The tour in Izamal was even worse. The guide drove at dangerous speeds, causing concern among the participants. Additionally, the vehicle used showed poor quality which negatively affected our overall experience. Customer safety and comfort should be a priority, and clearly, Coox Mayab failed in this regard.
Lack of proper communication was also a significant problem. Even though we planned our tours months in advance, any interaction with the agency took at least two weeks to receive a response. Failure to respond promptly shows a lack of professionalism and commitment to customer satisfaction.
The agency's response to our concerns was not satisfactory. We feel neglected and disappointed with the lack of professionalism in addressing these issues. The only positive thing was the knowledge of they guide they hired for the visit of Chichen Itza.
