I am a female, native speaker of Spanish who traveled for the first time to Mexico City in 12/22. As a former college student of Archaeology, it was my dream to make it to Teotihuacán. An Uber would have cost me around $30 each way. The question was whether there would be a long wait/UBERs available for my return. So I decided to go for the cheapest method which was to take an UBER to the Central de Autobuses (the public bus station), as the UBER driver for a suggestion regarding what company to use, and he pointed me in the right direction. I forgot the name, unfortunately. But, once inside the terminal, the company signs display the destination, and Pirámides is what Teotihuacán is referred to as destination. The bus was super comfy and clean, and the ride was $US3.0. It took about 1.5 hours because it stopped at 2 places on the way there to pick up passengers. It dropped me off at gate 2 which is one of the many entrances to the park, and one that places you directly in front of the Pyramid of the Sun. Take a hat/umbrella, water and sunscreen as the sun burned like nothing else through my t-shirt and sweatshirt. On the way out, you just cross the street from where the bus dropped you off and wait 5-10 minutes for another bus to Central de Autobuses, and pay cash to the driver. I saved myself lots of money, I enjoyed the view during the ride, and there was no safety concern whatsoever.
