A gigantic city warrants a gigantic university! Welcome to the UNAM, Latin America’s largest and oldest university. You'll see it aboard a VW Beetle Convertible or VW classic Combi. On the tour, you will discover a World Heritage Site and architectural gem spread over 7 square kilometers and hosting more than 330,000 students, 14 schools, an Olympic stadium, botanical gardens and stunning murals by artists such as Diego Rivera and David Alfaro Siqueiros. This is our second Traveling Beetle tour and both have been excellent. Very knowledgeable guides who are trained architects, with a passion for sharing their insights about the subjects. Traveling in classic VW vans is great. Look forward to more tour options for modern Mexican architects as the culture is so rich and fascinating.

My wife and I had a wonderful day with Luis, touring various Barragan homes and gardens. From the time we were picked up in the VW bus at our hotel, we were enveloped in Luis's knowledge and passion for the architecture of Barragan and Mexico. Luis, who is a practicing architect, gave us incredibly useful historical and architectural background as we made our way to each property, and then provided detailed tours at each site. We had lots of time at each site and were never rushed. We also had time to talk with Luis about a range of other subjects about Mexico and Mexico City more broadly.

Enjoyed the tour in the mini retro Beetle car and having the opportunity to see parts of the city that is not part of the tourist circuit. Learning about Juan O'Gorman architect and artist and his contemporaries was an eye opener. The Diego Rivera house was a great example of early modern design and UNAM library and campus was a wonderful experience. Appreciated learning about this gifted architect and about Mexico's political artistic environment. Very knowledgeable guide and good driver.
