RIU Palace Montego Bay Jamaica: Service: Pleasant and receptive service desk personnel. They were prompt, efficient and very respectful. Walked into a smiling front desk reception, and it was that way for the remainder of our stay. Twice we had to have someone come to our room(the safe, and air conditioner)...each time they were there within minutes. In fact, it exceeded our expectations. Food: We really Loved the food at the Buffet, and the Steak house. We weren't impressed with the food at the Japanese & French...didn't go to the Italian, due to closures for private events. Entertainment: The shows with the resident performers were amazing...I told them that they should take their shows on the road, but of course they would be contracted to the RIU--I was just trying to drive my point home. The White party was something that I only saw on Television; it caught us off guard, because we didn't expect something so exciting. The water show at the Riu Palace didn't really Wow us, but it wasn't bad. Room: The room was extremely clean...the housekeepers do a wonderful job at cleaning; I saw how meticulous they were with cleaning. The Fridge was restocked consistently. The towels were replaced each day that we left the green tag on our door handle. The only negative was the semi open washroom; we weren't comfortable with having the washroom open to the rest of the room. The toilet & shower had a door, but the Tub and sink was open...some rooms had a screen that you could partially close off the area. Building: Staying at the RIU Palace gives you the best of three worlds; meaning, you have access to the other two resorts (RIU REGGAE & RIU MONTEGO BAY). The RIU Palace has a calm/laid back vibe, The RIU REGGAE is more energetic/lively & RIU MONTEGO BAY is pure high energy. My suggestion to folks that enjoy calm and laid back vacations would be to stay at the RIU Palace. Beach: The beach is very nice and clean/well maintained. The service is very good on the beach, so you need not have to get up for a drink if you so desire. The RIU REGGAE has free Paddle boats, Paddle Boards & there's other amenities such as Party boat cruises(cost) & other water activities. Activities: We especially enjoyed the paddle boat activity which is complimentary. We enjoyed the overall vibe at the RIU Reggae for daytime events. We were primarily spectators at the pool activities, but enjoyed all the same. Would we go back to the RIU Palace--We can't wait to!
