We took a trip to Montenegro from Cavtat as a family. Set off at 9:15, did a couple of hotel pickups and headed to border.
After border we did short trip to Lady on the Rock and afterwards went to Kotor. The guide in Kotar was funny and informative. We got about 2.5 hours to look about and visited the Cat Museum. We managed to get a decent meal for 5 for about 110 Euro.
After the Kotor visit we headed back to Cavtat. On the way back the border queue was enormous. It took over 2 hours to get through back into Croatia. I had to take a pit stop for the loo at the border. The toilet was worse than trainspotting.
The tour guide was helpful and fun. The coach was comfortable but man.... what a long expensive trip for a few hours. At best this was a 3/5 experience. We were not warned about the potential huge delays at the border. On that basis do not do the trip in busy times unless you have an obsession to see Montenegro.
