This is great tour to see the beautiful ponderosa pine forests that Arizona has to offer. Our small size makes our company very flexible so we can accommodate your needs and requests. We can customize any tour to make it more fun and interesting to you. We love the history of Arizona and enjoy pointing out points of interest and bits a trivia. We also enjoy learning from our guests as many are very knowledgeable themselves. Our large book collection on Arizona History helps us to stay informed on well researched details of the past.

Preserved well and interesting signage. Short walk once you leave the gift store/museum. So sad to see that some of the trees in the area were vandalized.

We all thoroughly enjoyed our day with Historic Arizona Tours and our guide Todd. We got to visit Montezuma’s Castle which is a really nice cliff dwelling that was very easy to walk to from the visitor’s center. It seemed nicely preserved for its age. We then continued on north and ended up at Mormon Lake Lodge for lunch. What a neat old building located in the pine trees at a much higher altitude than Phoenix. The lunch was very good, and the rustic atmosphere was fun and interesting. Lots of beautiful old western movie posters. Then we headed through the ;pine forest and back down to Fort Verde and walked through their little museum at the Fort. It included some of the old officers’ quarters that housed a lot of historic items. It was great to get into the cool high country for the day. We would definitely take another tour with Historic Arizona Tours in the future. Our guide was knowledge, friendly and very helpful the entire day!
