Observing real maple syrup production is a truly Canadian experience. Normally the maple season is from early March until late April, but we can bring you this French Canadian traditional experience all year round. After a All-You-Can-Eat meal include lots of maple syrup, follow the guide for a interpretations of fabrication and history, then have maple taffy on snow. After lunch, you can visit gift shops and enjoy different kinds of maple products before spending the rest of your free time exploring downtown Trois-Rivières. You can shop in the boutiques, or visit the Assumption Cathedral, the mother church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Trois-Rivieres, since the 19th century. Its 125 stained-glass windows from Guido Nincheri are among the most beautiful in the country. Back in Montreal in the evening.

The drive from Montréal is about 1 hr 45 minutes. We enjoyed the sugar shack tour (about 20 min) and the maple taffy following the meal. The meal itself was pretty good. We had about 3.5 hours then in the city, which is a lot of time. We spent it walking the riverfront, in the Pop Museum, and at a local brewery. Overall a very good day, but a little long considering the activities available.

We had a wonderful time. I do wish that more stores were open in Trois Rivieres but we had a great trip.
