Haunted Old Montreal was closed for the season, but I reached out and Jason kindly scheduled a private tour for me and my scary movie-obsessed 11-yo daughter. We met Cara on a cold night in April and proceeded to walk the streets of Old Montreal. Cara had great banter with both of us, was fun, and really knew her Montreal history. Cara has a great theatrical presence and made it an interesting and fun experience. As a side note, Montreal just had a dreadful ice storm and many parts of the city have no electricity - including Cara, our tour guide's - yet she was perfectly on time and brought her A-game.
From a parenting perspective: My 11-yo loved it (no nightmares after)... It was not terribly scary per se, but if you don't want your kid to hear about murder and colonial-era torture.... well... feel free to judge me as a parent.
One great spooky moment... we were on a dark street and Cara was telling us a ghost story when two of the streetlights started to flicker and then go out.
Conclusion: These are nice people who were flexible in setting up a private walking tour on a freezing cold night. We had fun and it was entertaining!
