Vera was a fantastic guide. We ended up on a cold, rainy day but we didn't mind at all, as Vera still made every part of the tour enjoyable. She was very knowledgeable, personable and funny. Would definitely recommend to others and would definitely do it again.

I recently went on this tour in Oct 2019 and had Vera as a tour guide! I enjoyed it so much, that when I brought my younger sister to Montreal (for her first time!) in March, it was a no-brainer to add this tour to the itinerary! Funnily, I was super lucky to have Vera as a tour guide for a second time! She is extremely personable, charming, and knowledgeable! She makes everyone in the tour feel comfortable, and her love for the city really shines through! She also gives great recommendations for whatever your interests may be/the neighbourhood you’d want to explore. In Oct, we had a small group (4 people/2 pairs) and this time we had a larger group (about 14) - in both contexts Vera made it really fun and comfortable! I left feeling like I knew Old Montreal much better! The tour was a mix of history, fun facts, and delicious food! Local Montreal Tours has always been a highlight to my Montreal trips! I first went on the Old Montreal tour in Feb 2017 (though it had a different itinerary then! While I enjoyed the recent tour more, I do think that the food options were stronger before.) I went and did a Mile End tour when in June 2017 - which I’d also recommend! And as previously stated, I have done the current Old Montreal Tour twice! I even wish they had more tour options in other neighbourhoods! Without a doubt, I would book with them again for a future Montreal trip! Can’t recommend it enough! It’s always my fav part!

Caroline was an extraordinary guide whose deep knowledge of history made this a fine introduction to old Montreal. The food was not a good representation of the city’s or region’s foodways as it lacked any smoked meats, cheeses as local specialities. We began well with a delicious Montreal bagel half topped with smoked salmon and a small dressed salad of micro greens, mesclun and beets. Then, we visited a gluten free bakery for a lovely square of moist carrot cake. Next, we walked to a charmingly rustic French restaurant for a 3-4 ounce ramekin of French Onion Soup au gratin and a glass if red wine. Our next stop, Maison Guy Faire, offered a fine macaron to each of us; we love this patisserie and returned later for croissants to take home. Our final stop, a brewpub, offered a small sampler of their delicious beer as well as a very disappointing poutine. I have taken food tours in many countries and this one was the best in historical content and had the most knowledgeable guide; however if only the food were rated, this tour would not be Two stars at most.
