We started off from Marrakech and stopped in Casablanca. Also I had been to Casablanca before, I never toured the Hassan II mosque. We headed for the 3pm tour, as this one is less crowded. Most tourist groups go for the morning one. After the tour, which lasts roughly 45 minutes, we continued to Rabat. The hotel recommended Dinner at Dar Naji, a typical Moroccon restaurant, excellent food. The next morning we left for the village of Bhalil, where the guide took us to a cave home. Apparently there are 500 cave homes in the village, they are hidden so. it was 44C outside, but the caves feel very cool and pleasant. The lady showed me how to make buttons for the Djebbalah's. We left Bhalil and stayed overnight in Taza, a town, absolutely not geared up to tourists. We left the next morning for Oujda, which is about 15km from the Algerian boarder. The town has a very modern part and then of course the Medina and souks, frequented by the locals. The next day we left for Al-Hamida, a beautiful drive along the mediteranean coast. We stayed overnight in Cala Iris. We left Cala Iris and drove over a dirt road for about 11km. We passed acres and acres of Hashish fields, grown here for medicinal purposes. We headed direction Tetouan and stayed at the Ecolodge Ferma Jebala, situated above Tetouan. We had excellent food here, a chicken Tajine and breakfast with fresh cheese, olives, eggs, honey etc was the best I have eaten for a long time. The next day we headed for Rabat, but I decided to stay Sale at Dar El Mouhit. The stay at the Riad was a highlight, as the lady who looks after it, Mrs Amina is a real character.
All in all, a very good trip, I wanted to see a different Morocco, but suggest, probably spring or autumn would be better, as less hot. The temperature in the coastal areas
were better, but it was very busy with Moroccon tourists.
I had Rachid from Morocco Montravels as my guide and driver. I can highly recommend him. I have been travelling with him on several occasions. He is an excellent driver and communicates well. Thank you Rachid, I will be back for another trip for sure. Will try to find some off the beaten track places.

an unforgettable Family trip ever. this was a birthday gift from my father. We love travel together and Morocco was on his bucket list so we decided this would be the most fascinating choice. Everything about this trip was magnificent, from the first interaction we had with Med, the planner of our flawless schedule, to the unrivaled knowledge of our driver Saiid.
Although organizing a s private Morocco tour can be difficult, Med made the process look easy. His meticulous attention to detail and understanding of our interests ensured that our schedule was created perfectly. Each day was a new chapter in our Moroccan dream and we had the opportunity to experience the best of this amazing country.
Our journey began in Casablanca, where our driver Saiid greeted us with a friendly smile and an infectious enthusiasm for the local Moroccan. He is so knowledgeable, wonderful sense of humor, and helped above and beyond what was expected. He got us everywhere safely and in good time. Thanks to him, we were lucky enough, we did become quite lost one night on our own…but he had carefully given us the bearings to find our way riad.
But it wasn't just the driver that amazed us. Our accommodation was a tasteful blend of luxury and authenticity throughout the trip, so clean, comfortable, and artfully decorated, and served delicious and plentiful breakfasts, especially in the riads.
This sahara desert travel is a must if you are looking for an adventure that will ignite your soul and leave you with memories to last a lifetime!!! It was an experience far from the lives we know and truly etched in our hearts.
Dive in, embrace the Moroccan culture, and let DesertTrips take you on an unforgettable journey. Don't take our word for it. Your very own Saiid is ready to guide you through the fascinating places and picturesque scenery these magnificent nations have to offer. I can’t recommend this Trip highly enough!!!

We are a family of 5, ,y wife and I, two sons 18 and 13, and a girl who is 6. We do a fair amount of travelling during the year. We were so lucky to pick Desert Trips 15-day Morocco Grand Tour for our Christmas/New Years trip. Our amazing driver/guide, Khaleel, picked us right outside the arrival hall at Casablanca airport and our fantastic journey around Morocco began. First, Khaleel is energetic and enthusiastic young man who went way and beyond to make us comfortable and cater to our needs! His extensive knowledge of his country allowed us to truly immerse ourselves into Moroccan culture and history. The tour takes from Casablanca in a clockwise circle around Morocco. We were so intrigued by the history and culture that we ended up seeing 26 cities and towns, with several not on the original itinerary! The local guides at stop cities spoke perfect English and had a vast knowledge about their cities. It showed that they were chosen carefully. The old cities had this ambiance that is hard to describe. The narrow alleyways lined up with shops, the cacophony of sounds and voices, the aroma of spices and exotic perfumes, and the Islamic Moroccan architecture with its iridescent arches and colorful mosaics, the blend transports you back to medieval times. You can help but be mesmerized by it all. The two nights at the edge of the Sahara desert, one of them in a desert camp, were tranquil calming. Away from light pollution, the sky was dazzling with stars. We had the chance to see Gnawa people who I've only seen in documentaries. Their culture, food, music, and the people themselves were something else. The fossil museum was a great bonus. Khaleel and Desert Trips gave me something on which I cannot put a value, great memories with my family. For that, I'll be eternally grateful. A word of advice, when given the choice between staying at hotels or Riads, go for the Riads! Hotels are similar everywhere but Riads are uniquely Moroccan.
We always double-check the availability with our local partners for each booking. Even though this is usually a swift process, it can take up to 24 hours. Once this process is completed you will receive your voucher or ticket by email. If our local partner is not able to confirm your booking we will offer you the best possible alternative. If the new date and/or time doesn’t fit your itinerary, we will reimburse the full amount paid.
How great that you want to share your experience! Your feedback helps other travelers to make a better choice.
