Our guide was fantastic. Tailored the tour to our wants. He even helped to get a fair price for a leather jacket at the Tannery. I would absolutely recommend anyone visiting Fes to use this guide service as the Medina can be very difficult to navigate.

I was expecting to learn more about the history and culture of Fes. It is a little bit disappointing that the guide didn't give much information in that regards. We visited many shops and it was good to see how the carpets, bronze plates, and argan oil are made, but would be a waste of time to just see these. I still know little about Fes after the tour. In comparison, my talking tour in Marrakech was much better. Also the pickup was late for 20mins.

Don't come to the medina without getting a guide. Really. Just don’t. You will spend so much time trying to figure out where you are and how to get out and completely miss what you are really here for. To “attempt” to take it all in. Our guide (Hassan?) was very good and informative. I feel really bad we don’t recall his name but two months later and many tours in Morocco and this first one slips our mind. Having a local from the medina guide you through and talk about the history and give some information as you go is completely invaluable. We were able to take our own time for whatever we liked as there is no times agenda here, just getting yourself to the end is it. There is some much to see here and take in that you just need to make sure you take the time to look around as much as possible as this place is like no other. Expect as part of any guided tour through a shopping district that you will stop some places to hear sales pitches. It's just part of the deal.
