Local guide in Chefchouen in was excellent.
Person driving me to and from Tangier made me feel very uncomfortable asking if he could smoke and complaining about how little he made and his glasses costing so much money to be repaired. It was a grab for a giant tip and I caved. Would never have done this solo if I had known there would be that obnoxious pressure and guilting to leave a big tip. Avoid especially if you are traveling solo and a non-smoker unless you feel comfortable getting in a car with a man who asks you to smoke, tells you *not* to tip your local guide (certainly to get a bigger tip himself), and brag about how another American gave him a cell phone.. Your tips should be based on merit of visit, so focus on that. So I tipped because he whined about making so little per month. This review is for the very very uncomfortable experience as a solo female traveler. The only plus was I asked to cut the tour short so I could catch a train and that was accommodated. To be clear, I didn't feel unsafe, but I did feel pressured to leave a big tip and that was really really irritating. This would have been a good experience if it weren't for the constant begging and pressure to accommodate smoking. He asked for a good review. He should have focused on getting me a decent experience, and avoided complaining about how miserable his financial situation was.
