The driver, Imad, was incredibly kind and made our 8-hour journey from Fes to Merzouga truly enjoyable. Along the way, he took us to several scenic spots and explained the major cities we passed, such as Ifrane, Midelt, and the Sahara dam. We had breaks to visit various places, use the restroom, have lunch, experience Berber tea, take photos with camels, and more—all of which didn’t cost any extra money. The lunch stop was a buffet-style meal that included couscous, chicken, spaghetti, meatballs, and unlimited drinks like coke and water, all for just 120 dirhams. Imad even shared some fresh jujube fruits with us near Merzouga. I highly recommend him! The whole journey cost only 200 dirhams from Fes to Merzouga. At one point, I considered taking a taxi and even thought about looking for other travelers to share the ride, but I would’ve regretted it, as I would’ve missed all the scenic stops and Imad’s insightful explanations. Thanks a lot Imad!
