We hired Safaris Partners to take us from Dar Es Salaam to Dodoma, a 9-hour ride.
At first the driver went to pick us up at the wrong hotel. This was a minor issue that made us late for maybe half hour. The ride was going ok until after 7 hours when the driver started going very fast and passing vehicles and trucks with less care.
Two times I had to ask to slow down. Then we got a flat tire. There were no tools in the car to change a tire. The driver left in search for tools and came back with a drunk man. The tools were ancient and he had to use a few rocks to raise the car too. It took him like 1 hour and a half to change a flat tire. The drunk man was throwing up next to the car. The driver had left the car on with music when he left to get tools. We turned it off around 15 minutes later. The battery died. There were no cables in the car. Luckily we were traveling for work and the incident happened 1 hour away from our destination. The organization sent a car to get us and we jumped their car. We continued with the company car.
Edward, the owner of the company, didn't even write us the next day (or ever) to say sorry about this issue. You can't have a transportation company and not have tools to jump your car or change a tire.
