  • The Machame Route, known as the whisky route of Mount Kilimanjaro, is more physically demanding than the Marangu one but there is less traffic and it is considered to be the most scenic route to the summit. The trek offers you an extra day to acclimatise to high altitude during your trek, increasing your chances of reaching Uhuru Peak. The overnights on Mount Kilimanjaro are spent camping in tents, which are carried and pitched by the accompanying porters.
  • Large soft-sided duffel bag, waterproof jacket, insulated jacket, soft/fleece jacket, long sleeve shirt, short sleeve shirt, waterproof pants, hiking pants, soft/fleece pants, shorts, long underwear, brimmed hat/sun protection hat, balaclava / warm hat, warm gloves, glove liners, waterproof hiking boots, 3-4 pairs of thick socks, gaiters, sunglasses, backpack cover, poncho, water bottle (Nalgene), camelback, lightweight towel, plastic bags, sleeping bag (4 seasons in one), sleeping bag liner, trekking poles, headlamp, sleeping mat, day pack, toiletries, sunscreen, lip balm, insect repellent, first aid kit, sweets & energy bars, toilet paper, wet wipes, pencil & notebook, camera, extra batteries, passport, visa, insurance documents.
  • Machame Route is physically demanding and requires people with some trekking experience as tracks are strenuous.
  • Children under the age of 10 are not allowed.
  • Please note: Water on the mountain is filtered using Katadyn Filters, hence it is safe for drinking but purification tablets are still recommended.

    We just completed the Kili Trek which was simply stunning!! Bamba got everything right from the organization to the guide and to the food. We had great camping equipment ensuring the whole trip went perfect!! An experience we will remember forever!
