    The starting point will be at One Bike Shop in the city center. We first will pass through the city of Moshi and its vibrant streets to then head to the dirt road that will take us on a cultural experience with the most famous Mt. Kilimanjaro’s inhabitants, Chagga people. We will see their everyday life: farming, preparing food outside and kids going to the school, as well as experience their great sense of hospitality. Lush coffee, banana and corn plantations will surround us on the way and a Coffee making process tour can be included in the trip. The steep and rough road will take us to the Materuni village where we will have a chance to eat local food and rest. After that, a one kilometer walk will take us to the beautiful Materuni waterfalls where we will be able to swim, refresh and enjoy the afternoon. The ride back will be downhill so hold tight to your bike while enjoying the beautiful view of Mount Kilimanjaro! Distance: 30km Level: challenging

  • Wear a helmet. They might not be required by law in all areas, but it’s a smart idea to protect your head in case of a fall or accident. We recommend that, for safety and hygiene purposes, You can come with your own personal bike helmet with on tour
  • Ride single file. Avoid blocking sections of the road or path. It’s courteous to other cyclists, and safer if you’re riding with any vehicle traffic.
  • Avoid wearing headphones. Sure, we all love a little music to give us our soundtrack of this perfect bicycle tour, but be safe, and save the music for when you’re off the bike path.
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

I did two tours with Said - to hot springs and to the waterfall. Both of them were fun and I learnt a lot during the trips about the local culture and nature. They take really good care and make sure it is a personal experience with great food!

A very nice one-day excursion from moshi village! We cycled from moshi village to the materuni waterfalls, which was a physical, but rewarding experience. After the ride, we explored the surroundings of the waterfalls and swum at the bottom of the waterfall, which was more than welcome after sweating to reach the top! The tour was perfectly organized by our guide Said and the bicycles were from high quality. I definitively recommend the excursion if you spend a few days in Moshi.
