This very remarkable Waterfall is one of the tallest in the area, spewing crystal clear glacier water 80m into its basin. The lovely and attractive path leading to Materuni Waterfall is located 2400m above sea level. It crosses through valleys and hills covered by tropical rainforest, past coffee, banana and avocado “shambas”, the Kiswahili word for farms. On a clear day, great views of Kibo and Moshi town can be seen. The hike to the base of the Waterfall can be demanding at some point and hiking boots are recommended especially during wet seasons. As this trip is so close to Moshi town it is ideal for those people with limited time but who would still like to see some of the nature and beauty that this region of Tanzania has to offer.

This green village with fresh air from green vegetation welcomes visitors to explore the beauty of the land and cultural heritage of the Chagga people. In the morning, our guide will collect you from your hotel in Moshi and take you to Materuni, a village that is very beautified by an impressive waterfall. Through your hike walk down the Materuni base, you will have a chance to pass through the valleys and hills covered by tropical rainforest, banana, and avocado farms.

My father and I went on a tour to the Materuni Falls with Alpha, our guide and had a wonderful time ???? Alpha has allowed us a fantastic guided tour of the magnificent surroundings of Mount Kilimanjaro!

Samen met mn dochter hebben we met Alpha van Oserok trips en tour naar de waterval gedaan, met lunch bij een Chagga stam en met een koffie ceremonie. Alpha haalde ons op bij ons hotel en samen zijn we naar de waterval gelopen. Onderweg legde hij veel uit over alle planten, bomen en dieren die er te zien waren. Hij is een relaxte en uiterst ervaren gids en we hebben een topdag gehad.
