    Enjoy a tour of the bayside town of Sausalito with 45 minutes of free time to explore on foot. You can choose to head back to the city on our mini-coach, or opt for a ferry ride across the bay with views of the San Francisco skyline, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Alcatraz Island! Sample Itinerary: • 7:15am or 1:30pm (depending on date and tour choice): Pick up from Hilton Union Square hotel. • Drive across the Golden Gate Bridge, and stop at a viewpoint for that perfect photo (weather permitting). • Arrive at Muir Woods National Monument, where you will have 90 minutes to walk the trails and check out the cafe and gift shop. • Back in the vehicle, you’ll wind your way down into Sausalito. You’ll have 45 minutes to explore, or you may choose to take a ferry back across the bay and stay longer up north. • Approx 4-5 hours later: Hop back on the mini-coach, if you’re taking the mini-coach back across the bridge. You’ll be dropped back off at the Hilton.

Muir Woods and Sausalito Half Day Tour Wonderful Half Day Trip 1012890020 My trip to Muir Woods and Sausalito was 1:15 pm. The tour guide Sam was on time, personable, and had great information about the Bay area and the designated stops. I contacted the tour company to confirm the pickup location, the service rep was very pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this trip, but bring something to eat. The visitor's shop at Muir Woods is expensive, but there are places outside of the actual tree groves to sit and eat if you pack a lunch, which can be left in the van. The stop in Sausalito goes by quickly, and the shops close early, so there may not be time to grab food. It was really chilly/windy in downtown San Francisco, but the weather at the park was pleasant. I'm not sure if this is typical, but something to consider as I was a bit over dressed for the hike. Also, I had a late flight, so I stored my luggage with an online service. You can search. I can not provide the link, b/c it will appear that I'm promoting the service vs. providing useful information that took me some research to figure out. It was easy, reasonable, and only a few blocks from the pickup location for the trip. The company apparently has designated storage partners throughout the city. The reviews were mixed, so the caveat is to be comfortable with the storage partner. Again, the trip was great, the van was clean, and the tour guide talked just enough, but not continuously, gave time to ask questions and take in the views. For anyone traveling solo, I suggest taking the offer of the front seat, best view ever!

The tour was absolutely worth it! Muir was beautiful. I highly recommend it if you’re visiting San Francisco. It was a small group which made it even better than our guide was absolutely amazing and knowledgeable.

Our visit to Muir Woods and the Sausalito Half Day Tour was excellent! We enjoyed the drive from San Francisco to the Woods. Our driver, Mitch, was careful driving, and entertaining with his description of the beautiful scenery and telling us about Muir Woods. We enjoyed a short stay in Sausalito. We decided to take the ferry back to SF. Chilly weather but a lovely ride all the way.
