We purchased a 3 day Munich City Pass. We had no problems of any kind. We used the Hop on/off bus. We used the pass as several attractions. We went to the front of the line with no problem! They scanned our voucher with their phones and off we went. Great way to see the city!

I bought a 3 day pass with inner circle hop on/off bus transport. I was forced at the time of booking to enter a start date but actually started a day later and apparently, the date is locked in so I’ve already lost one day. When I did begin to use it, there was confusion and didn’t seem to be well known. There was another card staff were getting it confused with. There was a lot of confusion on my part and organisations.
You don’t receive anything other than an email with the voucher attached, unlike the Vienna pass where you received a lanyard with barcode and clearly visible. I found the information on the internet websites were vague and poor. Quite a few places didn’t accept it (eg. tombs in church, tower in St. Peter’s cathedral). If you are in Munich on a Sunday, most of the museums have 1 Euro entry.
My biggest gripe is the hop on/off bus which I only used once. The stops were not clearly visible, what very few stops there were, and I had to go to the main train station to commence my journey as I didn’t know where the stops were. Also, the website clearly shows red buses, which is a different company. You used the blue buses. Again, I only found out mistakenly and the red bus company had no clue about the pass.
I used the train twice and was anxious in case I was asked to produce a valid ticket and could only show my piece of paper which I had printed out. Was concerned that would not be accepted. I really had little confidence in this pass.
The pass cost me $165Au and I probably used only about $65Au. I didn’t have time to go to all the museums. Three days is not enough time to see the majority. The main ones are large and take hours to do them justice. I managed Nymphenburg palace and gardens (takes at least 3 hours if you’re quick to see everything there) which cost around 15 Euro combined tickets, then Residenz museums which included the cuvillies theatre and that took about 4 hours with a cost of approximately 12 Euro.
I recommend to save your money, avoid the disappointment and confusion and terrible website and just pay as you go, pacing yourself comfortably. Public transport is relatively cheap and easy to use in Munich and there are subways everywhere around the main sights. After my experience with the Vienna Pass, I was left bitterly disappointed with this Turbo Pass aka Munich City Pass.

A GREAT investment - the pass saved us quite a bit on admissions and on transportation. Strongly recommend purchasing if you are going to be in Munich.
