The Musandam region, separated from the rest of Oman by the United Arab Emirates, is the northern most part of the Sultanate. The dramatic Musandam peninsula is perhaps one of the most scenically spectacular area in the Gulf. These spectacular fjords have given the area a second name "The Norway of Arabia”. The peninsula is mainly inhabited by the Shihuh, who are fishermen and herdsmen and are probably descended from the original inhabitants of northern Oman. Fishing is the peninsula's main industry with packing plants at al-Khasab and Bay'ah. Transportation is mostly by sea, since no roads cross the forbidding terrain. Musandam - Khasab is very close to United Arab Emirates and easily access able by road for guest from United Arab Emirates. Musandam - Khasab makes it very unique because of Spectacular Fjords, Natural dolphin, Coastal view, Tallest Mountain, Historical Telegraph & Seebi Island, bedouin villages in the Fjords & in the mountains.

The dhow will anchored at historical Telegraph Island repeat station built in 1864 by the British to connect Bombay (India) with mainland Britain by an underwater and overland telegraphic cable passing via Basra in Iraq and Turkey. Enjoy swimming and snorkeling at the Telegraph Island in the pristine and calm waters of the fjord. Lunch and refreshments are served on board. South, past mountain villages and green valleys, Jabal Hareem peak is known for its marine fossils.

Was für ein wunderbarer Tag... Wir wurden pünktlich um 06:00 Uhr in unserem Hotel in Fujairah abgeholt, Fahrt ca. 2,5 Stunden inklusive Grenzübergang in den Oman, auf die Halbinsel Musandam. Ankunft in Khasab, direkt auf unser Boot, eine klassische Dhow. Die Fahrt dauerte von 09 bis 16 Uhr, also sieben Stunden. Wir haben den ganzen großen Fjord bei Khasab befahren, bis zum hinteren Ende, ca. 17 Kilometer. Mit zwei Badestops (Snorchel-Ausrüstung und Handtücher inklusive), Besuch von Telegraph Island, einem großartigen Mittagessen inklusive frisch gegrillten Tuna, und drei wundervollen Begegnungen mit den dortigen Delphinen (zweimal wurden wir von einer Delphin Mutter mit ihrem Jungen begleitet...) Captain Malallah hat mit viel Erfahrung und Geduld immer den richtigen Moment gefunden, den Delphinen macht es anscheinend Spaß in den Wellen eines schneller fahrenden Schiffes zu schwimmen, und sie begleiten die Boote dann mehrere Minuten (wenn man Glück hat). Erwähnen möchte ich noch den zweiten Mann an Bord (Ali) und den sehr guten indischen Guide aus Khasab, dessen Namen ich leider vergessen habe. Ein ganz großartiger Tag, nicht ganz billig, aber jeden Dirham wert, und perfekt organisiert von Bushra, auch hier großes Lob, für haben die Buchung ganz easy und schnell via WhatsApp vorgenommen, alles perfekt organisiert. Volle 5 Sterne.

It was really wonderful trip and special thanks to the Indian crew of Samir , Vikram and Irfan. Especially Samir he was very Hospital and took care of tiniest needs. We had a blast looking at dolphins especially with my little one when you have 6 year old daughter having dolphins swimming by your side is just amazing. The boat was comfortable and full of fruits , drinks and lovely lunch given throughout the trip. Vikram was very good with explaining the details of the landscape around. If you are coming to Khasab , this full day dhow trip is a must ! Highly recommend this trip and do ask for Samir for that extra Hospitality . ????
