Al Amarat is the fifth most populated province in the Muscat Governorate after Muscat itself, As Seeb, Bawshar and Muttrah. Mohammed Al Ameen Mosque, Muscat, Oman Mohammed Al Ameen Mosque (Photo Stop Only)
is a marble-clad marvel located off the Southern Expressway, at a height of 62.5 meters above sea level in Oman. Construction of the mosque commenced in the year 2008 and was completed in 2014. The construction activity brought together designers, materials, technologies, artists and suppliers from Iran, Italy, Germany, Austria, India and the UK. It rests on an area of 20,300 sq. m. The main Prayer Hall is 1616 sq. m. and can accommodate 2,100 people. The Chandeliers – Main Prayer Hall is 11-metre tall and the Ladies Prayer Hall is 4.5 meter tall, are finished with 24-karat gold plating and Swarovski crystals.

Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Muscat, Oman Next is Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque Photo stop Only.
"Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque", which dominates the skyline of Muscat. The mosque is square in shape which surrounds the central dome with a total height of 50 meters. The 5 minarets define the limits of the site representing the 5 pillars of Islam. The main minaret is 91.5 meters tall and the others reach up to 45 meters.
The main prayer hall (musalla) can hold over 6,500 worshippers, and the women’s prayer hall (musalla) can accommodate 750 worshipers at a time. The outside paved area in the gardens can carry around 8,000 worshipers; and with an additional usable area for prayer in the interior courtyard and the corridors, making a total capacity of the mosque up to 20,000 worshipers.
The total site area of the mosque is 416,000 square metres (102 acres) and the complex extends to cover an area of 40,000 square metres. This Grand Mosque was inaugurated by Sultan of Oman in the year 2001 to celebrate the 30 years of the Sultan Qaboos. 30 minutes

The Royal Opera House Muscat is Oman's premier venue for musical arts and culture. The opera house is located in Shati Al-Qurm district of Muscat on Sultan Qaboos Street. 15 minutes
Mutrah Souq, Oman Then after we drive towards to Muttrah Souk.
The main attraction of Muttrah for visitors is the traditional market. This is one of the oldest souks on the Arab peninsula, although the building itself was rebuilt in the 1970s. A palm frond roof has recently been added to make it more authentic. Because tourists are a relative rarity this is very much a market for local people. The shopkeepers will try to attract the attention of curious visitors but not so insistently as in souks in more popular destinations.

Muttrah stretches along an attractive corniche of latticed buildings and mosques; it looks spectacular at sunset when the light casts shadows across the serrated crescent of mountains, while pavements, lights and fountains invite an evening stroll or a bike ride. 15 minutes
Al Alam Palace, Oman Next Visit is Al Alam Palace.
Al Alam Palace (Flag Palace) is the ceremonial palace of Sultan Qaboos and lays in the heart of Old Muscat. Built in 1972, the palace is a fine example of modern Islamic architecture. The official residence of the Sultan of Oman is regularly used to receive distinguished guests visiting the country. The sultan resides elsewhere day-to-day, but if the Omani flag at the palace’s main entrance is raised, Sultan Qaboos is home. 30 minutes
Al Jalali Fort, Oman Al Jalali And Al Mirani Photo Stop only.
Al Jalali Fort, or Ash Sharqiyah Fort, is a fort in the harbor of Old Muscat, Oman. The fort was built by the Portuguese under Philip I of Portugal in the 1580s on an earlier Omani fortress to protect the harbor after Muscat had twice been sacked by Ottoman forces. It fell to Omani forces in 1650. 10 minutes

Fort Al-Mirani is a fort located in the harbor of the city of Old Muscat, Oman. The fort existed prior to the Portuguese invasion and was later rebuilt by the Portuguese in 1587. The fort became the first to use cannons in Oman

Evening Muscat City Tour

We had a short visit to Oman. Upon arrival in muscat we started the evening city tour. Muscat is a beautiful in the evening as the city was so lively. Even though we had a short visit only, but we really enjoyed the places that we visited. Our guide mohammed was very kind. Highly recommended

Loved this tour! Got to see all of the beautiful places in Muscat in the venting, looked so pretty with the lights. Majid was an incredible guide and so informative. I learned so much about the city and loved seeing all of the sites!

Muscat is beautiful, the city was alive at night.
The Market of Muttrah, the Restaurants the Mosque, Al Alam Palace.
We enjoyed the evening views.
