This trip was outstanding. My guide, Ms San San Shwe was a font of knowledge, carefully planned the day to correspond with the heat and was happy to oblige with a side trip to ‘The Lady’s House’ to satisfy a bit of hero worship on my part. The circular railway was a great deal of fun also, but it was Ms Shwe’s knowledge, bubbly enthusiasm and obvious love of her country that won me over. If this is your first time in Myanmar, this is a must do tour. I was sooooo impressed.

After Pickup in the Lobby we startet a Walking tour (Fresh Market, Townhall, Sule-Pagoda, Ferry-Pier etc). Than our driver took us to the Central-Station (I want to see) but there were trackworks and we should wait 60‘ for the next circilair-train! So we asked the guide to visit other sights in between! So we walked for 15‘ more to the Aung-San-Market (a sight on the itinerary, too) - nice shopping there and we were able to catch the ciculair-Train there, too! To get in local touch - Trainride was amazing! After we had Lunch we wanted to expand the itinerary, because the Tourguide wants us to offer a break for 2-3 hours in our Hotel, but were fit and wanted to see more - so we asked the guide and driver to bring us to the Kandawghy-Park (very nice)! After stopping in a shopping place, we went to the Chaukhtatgyi-Tempel (!!!) and after directly to the Swedagon-Pagoda (!!!!)! Should be visited after 4.30 pm (otherwise floor it‘s to hot walking outside), but we did it at 3 pm (walking on the floor was more than ok)! Thoroughly we are very powerful Sightseers and we walked fast and our visits at the sights should not to be very long! So it was a challenge for the guide, because he often wants to offer us breaks, what we don't wanted and need! So we were a challenge for the guide and perhaps it was not his day! But at the end - we recommending this tour very much!

Our guide, Sinshe (hope I spelt it correctly) picked us up from our hotel on time, she explained in perfect english what we were going to do and where we were going first, we then left and went to our first stop which was the Pagoda, this was wonderful to see and we understood more from it through what Sinshe was telling us, we both felt enlightened at the end of this visit, it was peaceful and a wonderous site to see.
From there we went to see the Lady Buddah, a hugh lying down Buddah of which is one of the biggest, the transformation from when it was built and what it is today was fascinating and is a must see.
We then went downtown to see the lovely colonial buildings. We walked round, which was very relaxing and all the time Sinshe was telling us about the area. We stopped at the Rangoon Tea House for lunch and sampled a few of the local dishes, all of these were lovely but the favourite was the byriani.
After lunch we went to the scottish market, I think it was, where we had time to walk round and sample the local handicrafts as well as jewellery before headin to the train station for our train ride, it was standing room only but the draft we got from the open doors was much needed. The traders on the train selling their wares and the lady making the salads on request was great to watch.
Sinshe made it a very special day, she was very knowledgable and I can't recommend this tour enough, I'd do it again and again if I could.
