You can't miss Pompeii ... it's a bit like being in Naples and not eating a pizza;) Pompeii gives charm and elegance after years and is always an extraordinary place of worship. Diving into the ruins to experience the past is a unique experience. They will transport you into the life of then making you enjoy the joys and sorrows of an ancient city destroyed by the will of Nature. The majestic Vesuvius Volcano dominates the entire city and its perspective is mammoth. Its power and strength destroyed all traces of civilization. It is as if from that day the city and its people slept under a blanket of lava and debris. There time seems to have stopped. Destroyed in 79 AD. considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997, excavations return many and many rarities and many more are still to be discovered.

The findings following the excavations, initiated by Carlo III of Bourbon, are one of the best testimonies of Roman life as well as the best preserved city of that era; most of the finds recovered (as well as simple everyday furnishings including frescoes, mosaics and statues), are kept in the National Archaeological Museum of Naples and in small quantities in the Antiquarium of Pompei. Bella esperienza. Solo ricordatevi che se prendete il biglietto dalle 16 in poi tutte le case sono chiuse, quindi potete solo camminare per le vie.
Meglio non andarci ad agosto comunque.

All I can say is Wow! Our tour guide was over the top knowledgeable (PHD in Cultural anthropology)..thank you Vincenzo (Vinny). Our tour started in rain and ended in sunshine. The bus trip to Amalfi was amazing, scary and unbelievable. The bus driver must have had nerves of steel, drop off on one side and cliff on the other. Amalfi is a quaint little town with a beautiful town square and church. Pompei was Unbelieveable! I have never seen anything like this in my life. Would highly recommend Shore Excursions. All the tours we did with them were fantastic!!
