I seldom do provide reviews as far as my travels abroad are concerned. But here’s one for Nepal Yoga Home. My trip to Kathmandu, Nepal during the second week of December was one of my amazing travel experiences and worthy this write-up. First-off, deciding on taking up Nepal Yoga Home (NYH), for my 10-day ayurveda treatment and yoga training, as my 2nd abode while away from home was the most practical decision I had made. I give NYH a score of 9/10 (with 10 as the highest). I felt very homey during my entire stay … because everyone treats each other a friend and where the owners treat their guests as family members. In my short stay, we (guests from all over the world) tend to get familiar with each other and as days pass by, the familial bond just keeps getting stronger. As to my travel objectives, I couldn’t be much happier … after completing my 10-day retreat. I lost almost five (5) kilograms, with no “guilt feeling” as I would always experience in my other trips when indulging in non-healthier practices most of the time. Daily yoga exercises and meditations (not too heavy for a first-timer like me) had opened myself to a different realization & view of the cosmos and spiritual upliftment with NYH’s in-house very-abled and considerate trainers. NYH’s team of Ayurveda doctor and therapists (daily Ayurveda treatments focusing in different parts of my body) was superb. I always look forward to enjoying NYH’s strict vegan and ayurvedic diet prepared by its friendly cooks – I believe not a “shock” to my digestive system with my usual daily intake. The effects of “detoxification” administered on me was rather manageable and never physically threatening (as I had thought of). The great take-aways are the high standards of hygiene & sanitation of the entire home; daily upkept of my room and the over-all quite ambiance that I very much enjoyed = stress-free home in its real sense. With my very satisfying experience at NYH, I did manage to convince my friend (with his wife) who will also be doing the same 10-day retreat this January.
