First and foremost, my guide Sunil was amazing.
I did a shortened version of this trip so it was just the trekking component for $350 USD.
I thought I would have a porter but this wasn’t included in the price like with the longer trip.
Sundarijal to Chisapani is 14 km of stone steps. It’s hard work. Luckily Sunil helped me with my bag otherwise I’d still be there.
Chisapani to Nagarkot trekking route is now a dirt road so your walking with buses, cars and bikes.
The last day of trekking was going to be along another road so I skipped that and came back to Kathmandu.
I wouldn’t recommend this trekking route especially in April when smoke haze from fires disrupts the view. I also don’t see any point of trekking along a road for 6 hours. The first day was hard but at least it was through jungle and there were no cars and bikes.
I would recommend maybe getting a car to Chisapani and walking back but that’s all on this trip.
Sunil saved this trip for me. He was engaging, funny and informative.
