My 2 friends and I were in the wonderful hands of our guides Anil and Pemba during our trek. While the trekking was tough at times, it took us through such beautiful areas. The tea houses we were booked in were nice tea houses and the food was good. I was a bit on the slow side and Pemba usually stayed back with me to make sure I was doing alright, which was nice, it made me feel like if something had gone wrong, I would have had someone to help me. The mountains all around us were some of the most amazing things I had ever seen. They make the Rockies seem small. I'm glad to have had the opportunity to see the Himalayas. When we got to Base Camp, I took some pictures, but then just sat there for a while looking at Everest and all the other huge mountains around me. I'm glad I took the time to just take it in.
In the evenings at the tea houses we had UNO parties happening. We taught our two guides, plus a guide from a different group, how to play UNO and it became such a fun thing to do. They got way into it, which made us all get way into it.
After we got back to Kathmandu, it was discovered during Covid testing to return home, that I had caught Covid on the trail. Dipak helped me take care of communication with the hotel and checked in on me every day until I was able to return home. Knowing I had Dipak keeping an eye on me made both me and my family back home feel better about the situation. Thanks for an awesome trip!
