Two of the most popular places in the Kathmandu Valley are Dhulikhel and Nagarkot. Dhulikhel features great mountain views as well as interesting temples while Nagarkot is the most popular place to see vistas of the Himalayas. Now you can make the popular trek between the two places. The journey starts with a magnificent sunrise over the Himalayas from Nagarkot, which is famous for viewing. From here, it is about a 16 km downhill journey to Dhulikhel with its beautiful temples. All along the way are great views of the Himalayas. Total hiking time is around 5 – 6 hours.

I have done the day hiking with Himalayan Advisor. They took me 4.45 am from Thamel and guide Madan picked up early and what a beautiful Sunrise over Himalayas. After the sunrise I had breakfast at Club Himalaya hotel. The continental breakfast is awesome but quite expensive Rs. 1,250.00 then started hike to Dhulikhel via countryside and farm field. Had noodle lunch at local tea shop and returned back to Kathmandu from Dhulikhel. It was nice trip and recommended for full day hiking.
