The national park inhabits over 311 species of birds including 117 migratory birds. Common species of bird species are white backed vulture, Himalayan griffon, black vulture, beard vulture, dark kite, hen harrier, goshawk, sparrow hawk, sikhra, common buzzard, Asian black eagle, steppe eagle, magpies, kalij pheasant, leafbirds, flycatcher, bushchat, babblers, cuckoos, bulbul, swift, warblers. Apart from birding, it is a beautiful hike with magnificent view of the Himalayan range from the top of Shivapuri and Nagarjun Hills! I spent 6days in Samsara, and if I could give more stars I would. Santa and Raju are the most incredible guides I ever met. Experts of birds and animals, they read jungle as others some book. The safaris were awsome, both by walk and jeep. We saw tigers, rhynos and lots of other animals. Of course it depends on luck sometimes but they know every places they appeares. Samsara is more like a family instead of a common Company - with kind people, funny talks around fire at night. I highly recommend who wants to see nature with the guides in the area.

With very short notice, Samikshya and Krishna were able to provide us with a day of birding near Kathmandu. They were both very knowledgeable about the birds (over 50!) that we saw and heard. And they were very patient in helping us to spot the birds that they found. They are highly recommended. Using a birding guide is definitely the best way to identify so many birds in a new area.

5 day birding trip in the hills around Kaauke and Gadhi and Chitwan National Park. Prem and Bishnu are excellent bird guides and engaged conservationists. They are well connected with the local communities and organized homestays that provided a unique experience. Birding in paradise, especially Chitwan offers a wide variety of beautiful birds even in the birding off-season November. Thanks so much.
