• Organised a 10 day private tour through Northern India in Jan 2020. Highly recommended
• Pluses
o great driver the whole way (Mr Narender Singh – very efficient not too talkative, excellent driver)
o always met by efficient staff at airport transfers including Mr Parth who ensured we got to the hotel and settled in OK
o hotel accommodation (4 star) all good, with one or two minor annoyances which were really just 1st world issues
o organised tours with city-specific guides covered all the main sights (I assume) very well
o communication with the company through Mr Prakash generally smooth
o we added a trip to Varanasi (by plane) before heading back to Delhi - highly recommend this if you can fit it in - the Ganges rituals (morning and evening), and the old city are a real sight
• minuses
o each city guide had their “special” artisans who were very keen to show us their wares. All good stuff, but be aware there is an expectation that you will buy – which is fine as part of the purpose is trying to support local tourism, but there are only so many pashminas you need
o your hand is in your pocket a lot. The cost of the trip doesn't include entrance fees to sights, which can run to 600 Rp for some – for tips and gratuities each day we were up to $50 or so - didn't really have a guide as to how much was expected, so went with "$20 seems about right" for a good guide – some worth it, other less so. So in the scheme of thinks not a lot, but just be aware of it and possibly seek some guidance beforehand
