Swaminarayan Akshardham, New Delhi, National Capital Territory of Delhi, India Akshardham or Swaminarayan is a Hindu temple dedicated to Bhagwan Swaminarayan that reflects the beauty and spirituality of India’s ancient art, culture, and architecture. In the temple complex there are various exhibition halls which provide information about the life and work of Swaminarayan. The complex features a wonderful water show, a thematic garden and three exhibitions.
The main attraction of the Swaminarayan Akshardham complex is the Akshardham Mandir structure , it rises 141-foot (43 m) high, spans 316-foot (96 m) wide, and extends 356-foot (109 m)long ,entirely carved with flora, fauna, dancers, musicians, and deities.
Designed in accordance with the standards of Maharishi Vastu Architecture, it features a blend of architectural styles across India. It is entirely constructed from Rajasthani pink sandstone and Italian Carrara marble. Based on traditional Hindu architectural guidelines on maximum temple life span, it makes no use of ferrous metal. Thus, it has no support from steel or concrete.
The mandir also consists of 234 ornately carved pillars, nine domes, and 20,000 statues of sadhus, devotees, and acharyas. The Mandir also features the Gajendra Pith at its base, a plinth paying tribute to the elephant for its importance in Hindu culture and India's history. It contains 148 life sized elephants in total weighing a total of 3000 tons.
Under the temple's central dome lies the 11-foot (3.4m) high statue of Swaminarayan seated in abhayamudra to whom the temple is dedicated. Swaminarayan is surrounded by images of the faith's lineage of Gurus depicted either in a devotional posture or in a posture of service. Each statue is made of paanch dhaatu or five metals in accordance to Hindu tradition. The temple also houses the statues of Sita Ram, Radha Krishna, Shiv Parvati, and Lakshmi Narayan. 120 minutes
Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, New Delhi, National Capital Territory of Delhi, India Gurdwara Bangla Sahib was originally a bungalow belonging to Raja Jai Singh, an Indian ruler in the seventeenth century, and was known as Jaisinghpura Palace, in Jaisingh Pura, an historic neighbourhood demolished to make way for the Connaught Place, shopping district.
It has a well and its water is now revered as having healing properties and is taken by Sikhs throughout the world back to their homes.
The Gurdwara and its Sarovar are now a place of great reverence for Sikhs, and a place for special congregation on birth anniversary of Guru Har Krishan.
The grounds include the Gurudwara, a kitchen, a large (holy) pond, a school, and an art gallery. As with all Sikh Gurdwaras, the concept of langar is practiced, and all people, regardless of race or religion may eat in the Gurdwara kitchen (langar hall). The Langar (food) is prepared by gursikhs who work there and also by volunteers who like to help out. At the Gurdwara, visitors are requested to cover their hair and not to wear shoes. Assistance to foreigners and visitors with Guides, head scarves, and shoe-minding service can be found inside the compound and are available free of charge. Anyone can volunteer to help keep the shoes in the shoe-minding room, and cleaning the precincts of the Gurudwara.
The complex also houses a higher secondary school, Baba Baghel Singh Museum, a library, and a hospital. The Gurudwara and Langar Hall are now air-conditioned. A new "Yatri Niwas" (Travellers Hostel ), and multi-level parking space have been constructed. Toilet facilities are available. The space around the back entrance to the Gurudwara is also being spruced up, so as to give a better view from the roadside.

Friday Mosque (Jama Masjid), New Delhi, National Capital Territory of Delhi, India The Masjid e Jahan Numa (lit. the 'World-reflecting Mosque'), commonly known as the Jama Masjid of Delhi, is one of the largest mosques in the world.. It was originally called Masjid e Jahan Numa, meaning mosque commanding the view of the world. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan .
Shah Jahan also built the Taj Mahal, at Agra and the Red Fort in Old Delhi, which stands opposite the Jama Masjid. It was constructed by more than 5000 workers and the cost of the construction at the time was one million Rupees.
The mosque was completed in 1656 AD with three great gates and two 40 metres high minarets constructed with strips of red sandstone and white marble. The courtyard can accommodate more than 25,000 people who can pray in the courtyard at the same time. There are three domes on the terrace which are surrounded by the two minarets. On the floor, a total of 899 black borders are marked for worshippers..
. The iconic mosque is one of the last monuments built under Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. After the construction of the monument in 1656, it remained the royal mosque of the emperors until the end of the Mughal period.
The mosque is a marvel to wonder, especially on Fridays when thousands of people gather here to pray. 60 minutes

I would recommend Top Travel & Tours to anyone. They are true to their name. The whole experience was exactly that, just top class. We worked with Mr Rajinder Dhar who helped us to make our family experience of the Delhi Spiritual Tour memorable. Since we were travelling with parents, comfort of the staying in and travelling around was most important. And I would say they went above and beyond to deliver what was expected of them.
