Join us for a walking tour of New Orleans’ most historic neighborhood, the French Quarter. See the “Vieux Carré” through the eyes of the Louisiana Creoles who originally called it home. Louisiana is unique amongst the various regions of the U.S. The intriguing tales of notable creoles (of West African, Native American and European origin) will illuminate the development of the culture that distinguishes Louisiana from the rest of the American south. This tour is an exploration of old Louisiana, the Louisiana that gave birth to Jazz and Zydeco, to gumbo and jambalaya. Louisiana is technically a southern American state, but culturally Louisiana has always been the northernmost part of the Caribbean. (This tour includes a tour of the courtyard of a beautiful antebellum French Quarter residence and normally of St. Louis Cemetery No. 1, though the cemetery is currently closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.)

It was so much fun to explore the history of this community! And Muriel was amazing. I enjoyed all of the stories, and all of the knowledge she shared with me, this was by far one of the great highlights of this visit

This tour was absolutely AMAZING. I’ve gone on other French Quarter tours before, but this by far was thee best. I learned so much that I had never heard of. The owner/tour operator, was kind, patient (while we asked questions :-) professional and so knowledgeable. I definitely will bring others to experience it as well.

What wonderful walking tour of Creole New Orleans! It was in French and English. The guide was engaging and provided lots of information. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is visiting New Orleans.
