Malika led our tour and shared her vast knowledge about the Black music experience in New Orleans; as well as the history and changes that have occurred in the Treme neighborhood and more! Awesome tour, I highly recommend it!

Thank you Malika for an informative and entertaining tour. Starting from a low base of zero knowledge of the area, Malika fired facts and history at me at an alarming rate! I think I retained about 33% of it but that’s a lot more than I had when I started. Some sobering stories as well as uplifting ones. The truths, rather than myths, about voodoo and the history of the enslaved and free black population of the area. This tour has prompted me to read and learn more about these subjects. A real eye-opener.

Malika did a phenomenal job of enlightening us on the history of NOL black history. She was a great story teller and encouraged our insights and input. Malika provided a great overview of the spirituality, music and history of NOL particularly the Treme neighborhood.
