I wouldn’t recommend Mojo Surf to anyone.
We were taken to a beach with about 30 students and 3 instructors. There was a 20 minute stretching session and then 15 minutes of discussing in small groups any concerns and goals for the day. We then went into the water, where the waves were big and a few times I got knocked down so hard I ended up with some blood on my face. One of the instructors went off and surfed on his own the entire time - genuinely never saw him interact with a student. The two other instructors were trying their best but with 30 students and only 2 hours, I was never once spoken to or given advice. I ended up feeling incompetent and also like it was unsafe - they would not have noticed if anyone was getting hurt, and thus decided to spend the last 30 minutes of the lesson sitting on the sand.
Wish I could have my money back as I learned nothing, felt ignored by all instructors, felt unsafe and did get hurt, and frankly got put off from surfing. I had previously done a lesson with a different surf school in Byron Bay and had a 10000x better experience, with one instructor for 3-4 students.
