I lucked out with perfect weather when I took Cole Smithey's walking tour of the Carnegie Hill section of the Upper East Side of Manhattan. But it still would've been fantastic in pouring rain. Beginning at the iconic Guggenheim Museum on Fifth Avenue, Cole's connection of architecture, sites where films were made and apartments where legendary film stars lived and still live, along with New York City history in general, helped me to connect to a part of Manhattan with which I previously considered myself very familiar but in reality had barely scratched the surface.
Cole's knowledge is encyclopedic and interesting and he is an engaging and affable host. I highly recommend the experience to anyone visiting or local to NYC.
