We took this from Picton to kaikoura. Really enjoyed it as had amazing views with a commentary if you want. One of the carriages is open which was really cool. Seats super comfy with loads of leg room. Don't take it if you're in a rush as it's slower than normal as it's a scenic route

What a great trip. From the time we got to the train station at Picton to when our journey finished in Christchurch it was amazing ,some of the most beautiful coastal scenery from a train that I have ever seen. The staff on board the train could not have been any better and this also included the food and snacks on board. So thank you Viator for organising this trip for me.

A trip to the bar for an excellent view of the Kaikoura coastal section while enjoying a drink. That is all I have to say.
