    The Picnic on the Peak is one of our most popular & unique excursions, perfect for a romantic occasion, family experience or a group celebration! Queenstown has some of the most breath-taking scenery in New Zealand and what better way to enjoy the remarkable views of Lake Wakatipu and the Southern Alps, than enjoying a champagne picnic perched high up on one of the peaks. Over The Top will fly you from its helibase to a mountainous location which overlooks Queenstown where you will have 180 degree views of the Wakatipu Basin. Here you will be left to enjoy your champagne picnic of meats, cheeses, salad, fruit and a selection of beverages for as long as you desire. The helicopter will return to collect you when you’re ready and provide you with a bird's-eye view of Queenstown, before heading back to the Over The Top heli base.

  • Suitable for all physical fitness levels
  • Pricing is based either per person or per helicopter at one rate
  • Subject to favourable weather conditions. If cancelled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund
  • Comfortable shoes are recommended as you will be walking in uneven terrain
  • A warm layer is recommended to bring with you or wear
  • You will be contacted either the day prior or the day of your booking to confirm based on weather conditions
  • Please provide any dietary requirements in advance

  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Such an amazing experience, pick up & drop off included which is so convenient. Ben the pilot was awesome! Package includes drinks & food platter everything in there was delicious. The best part was the mountain top views ???? definitely recommend doing this with your loved one! Loved every bit of this! I would go back and do it again in a heart beat lol! ????

We did this for my wife’s 60th birthday. It was really special and the views were stunning. We’d do it again.
