Join us on our two hour Rivertrail trek. See the spectacular mountain views of the Torlesse basin as you trek through the valley to the Otarama lookout point over the magnificent snow fed Waimakariri Canyon whilst riding through on our high country farm. Stop for a fantastic photo opportunities overlooking the Canyon before we ride down the terraces, following a musterers’ trail through the farmland. This ride is suitable for all riding abilities and fitness but caters also for the more experienced riders with some opportunities for faster paced riding. Please note riders must weigh less than 120kilos (2641bs), be a minimum of 12 years old and wear sturdy closed shoes(running shoes are ok). All riders are required to sign a waiver prior to departing on the ride. We provide safety helmets and they must be worn at all times when riding

Every aspect of the ride was memorable. The landscape was spectacular and the operator was very conscientious and professional. If you enjoy horseback riding, this is where you want to ride.

My wife and I did the two hour tour for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. Chris was amazing and makes you feel very confident riding such a large animal. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a fun activity with beautiful views. We were beginners and the horses were very well trained. It is a very nice tour that has some uphill and downhill parts so you are not just riding on flat land the whole time.

First time riding a horse and you couldn't ask for a better instructor, I found Chris to be enthusiastic and knowledgeable about his horses and outstanding in every other regard. He advised that every horse was personally trained by himself. His horses are very well mannered and trained. If you give them the respect they deserve and listen to Chris you are going to have an amazing trail ride. The trail is full of opportunities for photos and other challenges. I will definitely be back hopefully with a bit more experience and definitely recommend this to both beginner and experienced riders. Signing off, Magic and Shadow.
