Half-day heritage tour that follows the rugged and once treacherous Skippers Road. Travel the road that was hacked by hand into the sheer cliff sides of the Shotover River Valley. As your experienced guide navigates the awe-inspiring canyon, you can relax and enjoy numerous historic sites along the journey, including a century old suspension bridge and the township of Skippers. Gain an insight into the local heritage through photos and relics in the restored schoolhouse before trying your hand at gold panning.

This was an incredible tour! The views were spectacular and there was so much snow which we were not expecting. It seriously was a white wonderland! We were so very lucky to get Jenny as our tour guide. Jenny was so amazing and really knowledgeable about the areas we visited. She was extremely careful and drove very safely in some hairy situations. I recommend this tour with Jenny as your tour guide 100% Kylie

Wonderful experience enjoyed despite the rain and overcast conditions. Our driver and guide Justin provided excellent compelling commentary on his roots and passion for the history of Queenstown and Skippers Canyon. Our journey was cut short due to treacherous conditions on the canyon road but Justin was good enough to take us on some exciting river crossings in the Arrow River.
