Join us for a tour around the fascinating remains of medieval Newcastle, including free entry to Newcastle Castle. This tour will explore the medieval history of Newcastle which lies hidden behind the modern city. One of our authentically costumed guides will take you from St Andrews, Newcastle's oldest church, past the formidable town walls taking in Friaries, merchant houses, markets and guild headquarters, before finishing at the imposing Black Gate - the gatehouse of Newcastle's Castle. From here you will be free to explore the amazingly preserved remains of the Black Gate and Castle Keep for yourselves - tickets are included in the price of the tour.

Thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour with George at the weekend. I know quite a bit of local history but he still pulled out lots of great stories and took us to places I hadn’t been before. He had a real gift for bringing history to life. Personally, I’d like them to do a tour of Victorian Newcastle too as there is such a lot to see and learn about our fantastic city.

We had a great morning learning about medieval Newcastle with our tour guide George who was fantastic, full of facts and information and we have our entrance tickets to the castle to use at a future date . Newcastle has a fascinating history and would thoroughly recommend this experience.
