We are a genuine wholly-owned small family-run business that has been established for a very long time. Our boat, the Golden Gate, was purpose-built in Seahouses for the Farne Islands and in particular, Trinity House duties to the Lighthouses. George, the skipper and lighthouse attendant, has sailed around these islands for a very long time. You will receive unsurpassable commentary and quirky knowledge from him. Seasonal seabirds such as puffins, guillemots, terns etc can only be guaranteed to be seen may-July. Since Covid-19 broke, we don't aim to pack our boat fully to increase customer experience. We aim for ultimate customer satisfaction and strive to meet all customer's expectations before and after the trip.

  • Farne Islands, Northumberland, United Kingdom
    A 90-minute cruise around the Farne Islands. You will receive an expert commentary en route by the current Trinity House Lighthouse attendant. You will see resident seabirds such as cormorants, shags, gulls, and grey seals all year. During May-July you will also see seasonal birds such as puffins, guillemots, razorbills, terns, etc. After this time, we can not guarantee to see the seasonal birds for example puffins. Although, there is still plenty to see.
  • Longstone Lighthouse, Seahouses, United Kingdom
    You will sail up to Longstone Lighthouse, the former home of our local heroine Grace Darling. Here you will receive expert commentary on the structure and it's history. You will also traverse Grace Darling's rescue route with current lighthouse attendant George.

Booked the trip online the day before it was due to take place. However received a text on the morning of the trip to say it could not take place due to sea conditions and weather. Full refund arranged promptly and good communication from boat company and Tripadvisor

Good fun and a great way to see around the Farne Islands. Although the day was cloudy there was plenty to see and the commentary was interesting. Wrong time of year for some birds such as puffins but plenty of seals and other sea birds to see.

Saw seals and the resident seabirds. Shame the puffins weren’t around but I’ll come back in the main season for them! The crew were very knowledgeable. I asked a lot of questions and they could answer them all! Will be back next year, perhaps on a landing trip.
