  • Inner Farne Wildlife Walk, Northumberland, United Kingdom
    1 hour landing at Inner Farne NATIONAL TRUST Bird Sanctuary. Free for all members of the National Trust. Additional landing fee paid direct to the National Trust if non-member. See all of the nesting seabirds such as Puffins, Terns and Razorbills (to name a few) on the island. You can also see Inner Farne Lighthouse, one of the first ever to be automated. St. Cuthbert's chapel is also present on Inner Farne.

  • Longstone Lighthouse, Seahouses, United Kingdom
    You will see Longstone Lighthouse from the boat. Traversing Grace Darling's rescue route with current 'Lighthouse Man', Trinity House Lighthouse Attendant George. (We also do another unique trip that lands at this island and lighthouse. Please see our Longstone Lighthouse Trip).

    The total trip is 2.5 hours to 3 hours approximately. You will sail around all of the Farne Islands with an expert commentary on board by current Trinity House Lighthouse Attendant, George. You will see the grey seal colony, all of the seabirds nesting on the cliff faces, learn about the local history from George finally landing on Inner Farne National Trust Bird Sanctuary for 1 hour.

I made a booking for the summer, paid and did not recirve a confirmation. Tried contacting the company in every way: rmail,phone whatsup did not recieve a reaction.

Great boat trip taken with billy shiels to see the vast array of sea birds razorbills guillemots, gannets etc, and seals ..advise you wear something wind and rainproof

We arrived to collect our tickets but there wasn't even a ticket booth for Golden Gate at the harbour. On asking staff at the harbour, we were informed that Golden Gate's boat has not been in the water for months and we actually saw it having work done to it later in the day! On checking my emails for further information, I saw that our booking had been cancelled at about 9pm the previous night, which I had not seen earlier. My issue is that they clearly had no intention of honouring our booking and it wasn't cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, so why wait until the night before to cancel? We had paid £9.50 for all day parking at Seahouses so we decided to book the 1.5 hour trip with Billy Shiel's which cost £20pp instead of the £29pp which Golden Gate charged. They claimed this was for a 2.5 to 3 hour trip, including a 1 hour landing on Inner Farne, but omitted to include the fact that there are currently no landings on Inner Farne due to avian flu concerns. This means their trip would not have lasted 2.5 to 3 hours but was still costing £29. We were very happy with our trip with Billy Shiel's and would recommend them. We would never book with Golden Gate again and would not recommend them.
