Our Night Sky Star Safari is a comprehensive stargazing activity for all. Including a meal at an authentic Canarian restaurant on our way up the mountain and also stopping for an amazing sunset from above the Sea of Clouds, our activity is your introduction to the night sky, stars and the Universe. It includes the guided use of telescopes for night sky observation of visible planets, the Moon, stars, galaxies & more. Join us as we take a safari trek across the night sky with our lasers using constellations and detailed explanations of the science and mythology by expert astronomy guides. While in Tenerife, these astronomy tours are an ideal excursion for holiday makers, taking advantage of Tenerife being one of the best locations in the world for both professional and amateur astronomy. Our aim is that you have fun observing the sky and making it easy for you. We hope to give you as many WOW moments as possible!

Our translators meet us on site and the main presentation can be in your selected language. (don't worry you wont miss a thing as they will catch you up with anything that the English guide has said on the bus!)

    Our Pick Ups are from the South Zone only. We have a few stops at hotels picking up and then Drive straight to our first stop, the restaurant!

    We stop after pick ups and a short drive, at one of the local Canarian restaurants. Here you have a dinner and drinks and get to converse with the other travellers on the trip. It's a great way to meet new people with a similar interest as you. The menu is... Pork steak from the restaurants own farm and BBQ Chicken with Canarian Pots & salad, to finish a chocolate cake. Both meals include your first drink and water Wine and soft drinks are on table as well. (Vegetarian and Vegan Options available any day, also we can cater for Coeliacs) Canarian food is simple but tasty, get an insight into the traditional canarian diet!

    After dinner we head up further int the mountains. We will travel through the most recent lava flows on the island and up into the forest itself. Here we will stop for an amazing sunset from above the sea of clouds. With Views of Mount Teide behind us and the lava fields all around us in the center of the Coronal Forrest make a great spot above the clouds to watch the sunset with a glass of cava! We will also take photos and a sunset time-lapse that we will share with you after your tour FOR FREE!

    From our sunset spot it's just a short 15-minute drive to where amongst the pre-historic rock formations we will be waiting with 4 high powered computerised telescopes and lasers to explore the wonders of the Universe from our own solar system to distant galaxies! We will use a mixture of mythology, science and laser presentations to guide you through the constellations and use Telescopes to enhance the visual extravaganza that appears before your very eyes as it reaches Astronomical Darkness.

This was one of the highlights of our holiday in Tenerife. The meal, the glass of fizz whilst watching the sun go down over La Gomera, star gazing, photo opportunities and hot chocolate were all superb. The guides are incredibly knowledgeable about all the various constellations and galaxies and other celestial phenomena to spot as well as being very charismatic so keep everybody entertained and happy and make sure everyone gets plenty of opportunity to look through the telescopes. Having had a look at the different options for stargazing trips up Teide, I think this is the best deal. We had our photo taken at sunset and under the stars (which wasn’t too traumatic or time consuming for the camera shy!) and the next day these as well as all the photos and time lapse videos of sunset were available to download for free. We enjoyed every aspect of the trip and would go again. The only thing that we didn’t enjoy was the coach trip, as we were staying at the top end of Los Cristianos we were the first to be picked up…..and then the last to be dropped off. As it was a full coach that meant we had about 90 minutes - 2 hours either side of the experience sat on the coach, which was quite cramped. I guess that has to happen to somebody, unfortunately it was us.

Pick up was easy from our hotel and on time. Included meal was enjoyable but didn't have time to really sit back and have another beer. Facilities were OK. Unfortunately it started off a cloudy evening so no sunset was seen. Star Gazing was interesting with helpful commentary but we fore warned that it would be cold. And it was really really cold I mean freezing cold.!!! which was an irritating distraction. And we observed stars ,Saturn and full moon through the telescopes. However we did have hot chocolate which was very welcome. Overall a very different but enjoyable experience.

Amazing team. I read some other reviews so here is my view on some organizational topics - there was a bit of delay with pickup due to traffic, but organizers were in contact for this to avoid any worries. Meal is decent but basic so if you want smth fancy you can may be skip that part. We were offered jackets (Be ready it will get cold) and hot chocolate which was very mindful. Overall a pleasant evening experience. Our guide Craig was super fun and told a lot of canarian stories on the way. The objects that you see in telescope might vary during the year and overall the darkness will depend on the moon phase. If you have any particular questions about what you'll see may be better contact the team beforehand. Also to manage expectations remember it's a group tour, not individual, so it of course limits the time you can use the telescope and number of objects to see (otherwise we could stay there all night)
