Hoia Baciu forest near Cluj-Napoca is a seemingly quiet woodland that became famous in 1968 when a UFO was photographed right above it. After that, strange lights were spotted at night and inexplicable energy was recorded in the area. Even the vegetation looks weird in some parts and some say it's haunted, with paranormal activity. Let's go on a night tour to see it! The tour is not supposed to be scary, it is a presentation tour. But part of the presentation is also a list of the inexplicable things. Do you dare... at night?

    Hoia Baciu forest near Cluj-Napoca is a seemingly quiet woodland that became famous in 1968 when a UFO was photographed right above it. After that, strange lights were spotted at night and inexplicable energy was recorded in the area. Even the vegetation looks weird in some parts and some say it's haunted with paranormal activity. We will walk for about 3.5 km (shorter version of the tour is possible). Our destination is Poiana Rotunda or the Round Clearing, the place that is the most famous of them all.

We really enjoyed the tour. Alex knows his stuff and is an excellent guide. We were neither surprised nor disappointed with the tour. Great stories, local history, and for us, a closer look at the paranormal business without the nonsensical. Alex did not make unsubstantiated claims. It is a very interesting forest with much to see. We did encounter some ghost hunters in the clearing. Experience this tour yourselves. Happy hunting!

Excellent tour with Alex who is a knowledgeable and friendly guide, lots of walking but a great place to see after dark, would definitely recommend this tour thank you, Alex!

We had an absolutely brilliant night tour of Hoia Baciu Forest – it completely exceeded our expectations. The forest itself is every bit as eerie and mysterious as you might imagine, and definitely not somewhere you'd want to be alone after dark! But with Alex as our guide, we felt completely safe and at ease the entire time. Alex’s knowledge is outstanding – not only about the strange and unexplained happenings associated with the forest (think UFO sightings and tales of the Strigoi), but also about the local flora, fauna, and the fascinating history of the area. He’s clearly passionate about what he does, and it really shows in the way he tells stories and answers questions. What’s more, he’s incredibly humble with it all – never making it about himself, just sharing what he loves in such an engaging, down-to-earth way. We asked plenty – including some totally unrelated to the forest – and he was brilliant with all of them. One of the highlights was seeing the forest’s famously twisted and strangely shaped trees up close – they really add to the surreal, otherworldly feel of the place. We also had plenty of time to take photos and soak in the atmosphere. And to top it all off – Bernice accidentally left her coat in Alex’s car, and he kindly went out of his way to meet us the next day to return it. Absolute legend! This was the perfect mix of spooky, informative, and fun. If you’re in Cluj-Napoca, we couldn’t recommend this tour enough. Thank you, Alex, for an unforgettable night! – Sam & Bernice
